GemSeal is Honored to Support a Variety of Local Organizations

Ken McBride / Jun 21 , 2017

As a manufacturing company, being a responsible member of a community means operating safe and clean manufacturing plants and providing career opportunities for our employees.

But it goes beyond that. In addition, it means that we help organizations who make life better for people less fortunate. At GemSeal, our company and employees support worthy causes such as KinderMourn, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Toys for Tots, and the ALS Knights.

The following is an update on our outreach thus far in 2017:

Earlier this year in April, we sponsored KinderMourn’s 13th Annual HOPE FLOATS Duck Race at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC, on Sunday, April 30th. Thousands of citizens lined the banks of the main channel along the Catawba River to watch 20,000 adopted rubber duckies brave the rapids towards the finish line. The funds raised by this event help provide support and counseling programs for parents, children, and teens suffering with bereavement issues.

On August 19, GemSeal is sponsoring the 29th Annual Great Gatsby Gala in Charlotte which benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Carolinas Chapter. Over 500 guests will relive the days of the roaring 20’s with live entertainment, swing dancing, tasting stations from celebrated Charlotte restaurants, and a silent auction.

Beginning in October through Christmas, all regional GemSeal manufacturing facilities will hold a toy drive to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. And, for the fifth year in a row, employees in Atlanta, Millbury/Worcester, and other GemSeal locations will host a luncheon for customers in early December to raise awareness and Christmas donations for the program. As in past years, the toys will be collected and distributed to hundreds of children in the surrounding community just in time for the holiday.

DOT Pavement Products Available at GemSeal One Stop Shops

Ken McBride / Jun 7 , 2017

DOT product applicationTo stay on top of the latest DOT regulations affecting paving and pavement maintenance in cities, communities, and public areas nationwide, GemSeal participates in trade shows such as the American Public Works Association expo (PWX) and regional municipal events such as the Oklahoma Municipal League annual conference. By attending classes and networking with folks in the governmental sector, we have a better understanding of industry requirements pertaining to paving materials, equipment, and application procedures.

If you work on governmental projects, you also know the importance of using the right products to stay compliant as well as to prolong pavement usability and save taxpayer money. Fortunately, good help is not far away. Your GemSeal representative can advise you on the right products and application process as well as help you determine if renting or purchasing equipment is right for your budget and manpower.

In addition to our own line of products, your regional GemSeal One Stop Shop now carries a full line of crack sealants and patching products that meet government specs. Many of the products we manufacture or supply have been specified for use by DOT highway contractors and governmental agencies throughout the country, so you can be sure that they will perform in the field, wherever you are. In fact, these products have been especially designed to withstand high-traffic areas and provide long-lasting repairs to cracks, joints, potholes, utility cuts, patches, and edge breaks on highways, roads, bridges, city streets, parks, and fairgrounds, as well as airport taxiways and fueling stations.

When you shop at GemSeal, you can also see and handle equipment before renting or purchasing. We stock crack seal, mastic, and seal coat applicator equipment. Recently, we rented a seal coat applicator to the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority and it was used to seal all the asphalt in their maintenance facility.

If you decide to purchase equipment, we can help you avoid large, upfront out-of-pocket costs and set up more manageable payments through our financing program. Several financing terms, rates, and programs are available to support the seasonality of your business.

As always, our Web site is a useful resource available 24-7. In the governmental section, you can access a state-approved list of crack sealants, browse product information along with technical data for both crack sealants and patching products, check out our photo gallery, or view an application-in-progress video.
